The initial step is a straightforward "Hi" along with a smile. Then keep walking. Get comfortable simply saying "Hi" to young ladies. For instance, if you are in a book shop and she is taking a look at a book on cooking, ask her what she thinks of that book. Is it worthwhile?

Conversations develop naturally. Do not push it. Get to know her prior to deciding that you like her.
